Dr Indranath “Kavi” Jayasinghe is a Clinical Neuropsychologist specialising in complex diagnostic assessments across the human lifespan. His unique approach connects mind, brain, and behaviour, built on a rare multidisciplinary foundation spanning the humanities, computer science, and clinical neuroscience. This diverse background shapes his enduring interest in how people think, feel, and adapt when the intricate relationship between the brain and behaviour is altered by development, injury, psychiatric conditions, or ageing.

Dr Jayasinghe completed his undergraduate psychology studies at La Trobe University, graduating with First Class Honours and receiving both the La Trobe University Psychology Medal and the Australian Psychological Society Prize. He then earned his Doctor of Clinical Neuropsychology, with doctoral research focused on decoding clinical heterogeneity within Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). By investigating the complex interrelationships between emotion, intelligence, and autism spectrum traits, his work uncovered a novel method for mapping individual variations—advancing an approach that prioritises understanding the unique person beneath a diagnostic label.

Alongside his private practice, he has served as the Neuropsychology Clinical Lead (Medical Settings) for Eastern Health, where he currently operates as a Senior Clinical Neuropsychologist. In this role, he consults at the Eastern Cognitive Disorders Clinic and inpatient services at Box Hill and Maroondah Hospitals. In these complex settings, he treats neuropsychology as a clinical investigation, interpreting intricate cognitive and behavioural patterns to uncover what they mean for each individual.

Grounded in the core philosophy of "understanding the person, not simply the diagnosis," Dr Jayasinghe translates sophisticated scientific data into practical, meaningful pathways forward for patients, families, and care teams. He is also an AHPRA-registered supervisor, dedicated to training the next generation of clinicians and collaborating with specialists in neurology and psychiatry to deliver holistic, integrated care.
